The African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) has launched the second season of its documentary series Impact Stories, showcasing how its investments are transforming economies and communities across Africa and the Caribbean.
The new season highlights projects funded by the bank that support industrial development, infrastructure expansion, entrepreneurship and cultural industries across what Afreximbank describes as “Global Africa”.
Through six episodes, the documentary series illustrates how strategic financing from the bank is helping drive economic growth and strengthen trade partnerships across the African continent and its diaspora.
Projects across Africa and the Caribbean
Produced in partnership with CNN International Commercial’s branded content studio Create, the series takes viewers to several countries including Grenada, Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire and Nigeria.
The episodes explore projects ranging from industrial and infrastructure development to creative industry support.
Among the featured projects is the expansion of the Silversands Resort in Grenada, described as a flagship initiative demonstrating growing cooperation between Africa and the Caribbean.
The documentary also highlights the Dangote Refinery in Lagos, one of Africa’s largest energy infrastructure projects, and the revitalisation of Nigeria’s historic Aba industrial hub through investments by Geometric Power.
Other stories examine Ghana’s cocoa trade supported by Plot Enterprise as well as the renovation of Côte d’Ivoire’s iconic Félix Houphouët-Boigny Stadium.
Supporting Africa’s creative economy
The series also explores the continent’s creative industries, following Ghanaian fashion brand Boyedoe as it prepares for its debut at Paris Fashion Week through Afreximbank’s Creative Africa Nexus programme.
Anne Ezeh, Afreximbank’s director of communications and events, said the documentary series highlights how financial partnerships can create meaningful change in communities.
“The films are much more than stories about investment. They are portraits of partnership and progress, demonstrating the bank’s commitment to fostering economic independence,” she said.
Global audience for African development stories
Martin Laing, senior director of production at CNN International Commercial’s Create Brand Studio, said the collaboration produced a documentary series focused on human stories behind economic development projects.
“The series tells powerful human stories while showcasing the real-world impact of initiatives across Africa and its global diaspora,” he said.
The new season premiered on Afreximbank TV on 12 March 2026 and will also be promoted through campaigns on CNN.com and CNN International.
Afreximbank said the project reflects its broader mission of supporting trade, investment and economic integration across Africa and the Caribbean.
